Funding to conduct the landscape restoration and research and monitoring is being provided by federal government agencies such as the Department of Energy contracted to EcoSun through South Dakota State University. Considerable in-kind support for the project has been provided by the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Millborn Seeds, Inc. (Brookings, SD), and The Nature Conservancy for wetland restoration costs, fencing, and native plant seed.

However, funding to support infrastructure and outreach for this project is not available from these sources. Infrastructure needed on the Farm includes a greenhouse to start native plants, a shed to store farming equipment and in which to clean native seed, laboratory space for analyzing and storing samples, a small pull trailer to serve as a field office, and farm implements. Outreach needs include funds to maintain and update this website, design and print informational materials, and to build or renovate a small building to serve as a visitor center.
